The Hills Are Alive With The Sound of Laney

Dear Laney,

Sorry there haven't been many updates this week. For the past few days, Blogger has had service outages, so you can blame Google for the delay. They're probably too busy battling fascist China to concern themselves with the needs of a baby blog. But on the bright side, if Google conquers China - by the transitive property of politics - they'll soon run the United States. We can all share community bicycles and bring our dogs to work!

Yesterday, your grandparents from Florida arrived for a two-week visit. Peg Peg got in the car at the airport with a Disney Princess magic wand that spun and vibrated and lit up with neon colors and played the same obnoxious music cue over and over and over and over again.

This made Peg Peg your best friend and my enemy.

After a brief stop at Walmart (your grandmother hadn't been in a retail environment in over 8 hours, and she was starting to get the shakes), we hit the park for lunch and playtime.

You were easy to spot at the park, because you were the only child who had the undivided attention of four adults.

You looked like a Roman empress... "Place me on the bumpy slide. It amuses me."

"Now get on the monkey bars, monkey!"

"Now, spin me! Moh...Moh...MOH!!!"

It was the first really gorgeous (70+ degree) day we've had this year, so the river downtown was full of kayakers, which you enjoyed watching.

Welcome, Peg and Tex! You've set the bar high for this visit - hope you can keep it up!*

Love,
Mom

* Thor and I will be asleep at 7:00pm if you need us.
